Ryerson researcher successful in CFI competitions

Ryerson researcher Dérick Rousseau an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biology and a graduate faculty member in the Molecular Science Program was awarded a Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI): Leaders Opportunity Fund (LOF) award for an instrument that performs simulteaneuous wide-angle and small-angle X-ray scattering as well as differential scanning calorimetry. With it, an accurate, a fundamental picture of the physical and chemical structure of materials studied in Rousseau’s research program, namely the lipids and waxes in materials such as confectionery (chocolate), food emulsions, crude oil and controlled release matrices for drugs/nutraceuticals, will be obtained.
